Question Timing Gears

What year Timing set do i need on 460 Ford {mine now is a 1978 RETARDED } I have been told i need a PRE 72 year model set . Also will the 429 gear sets work ?? Need some help here when i install my new cam i do not want to use these RETARDED gear sets Any ideas or link i can go to

I'm just planning on buying an aftermarket set with three keyways for my 400.

Stock, get one for a 69-71.
I just used an Edelbrock double roller in mine.

Like LxMan1 said 69 to 71 But you need to check your cam also to make sure it's not advanced or retarded?

I think what he's talking about is the factory retarded built in timing sets but I only ever herd of them being on 351m and 400's I dont know about the 460 or 429 but any aftermarket timing set you buy will not have a retard built in.

when you purchase your cam they sometimes build into the cam a certain amount of timing advance or retard
