Every once in awhile when shifting from park to reverse the transmission does not engage. I have to shift to drive and then to reverse for it to engage. It only does it for reverse. Could this be a linkage problem or something bigger?

Another thing I have noticed, which doesn't occur to often and only after the engine/trans is warm, when shifting from park to reverse theres a clunking noise, like a hard shift. It also only does is for reverse. Any Ideas what this may be?
