It is finally all back together and running great. There a few things that need to be buttoned up, but the main issues are fixed and the truck is back on the road. A great big thank you to Chris(F-350-6) and Jim(Megawatt) who helped me so much on the wiring diagrams, I was finally able to trace the problem down to two wires being backwards from one model year to the other. I will post pics on Monday. All in all, if I had to do it over I would probably still do it, but I would budget a little more time and try to do a little more to it while I had it apart. Thanks to all here who put up with my questions and helped when they could.
Mike, glad to hear that the truck is up and running. That was a long process but the end results sound successful. Aren't those wiring problems fun??? NOT! At least you had good help.
That's great to hear Mike. Do we need to chip in and buy you a sticker that says "This end Up", or have you got that part figured out now?
If you've got the time, it would be nice if you would list a quick run down of what all was involved (don't have to get too specific), but the general info in dropping a diesel in a gas rig, or merging 2 trucks into one, however you want to look at it?
What are you going to do with the V-10 now? Hopefully you took lots of pics along the way. I'd be curious to see the progress as you went along.

Yeah, lots of fun. You got it dead on about the help.

I actually have seriously considered getting one of those stickers that says "If you can read this turn me back over." and putting it on upside down across the back windshield. I will be putting together a post on what was involved on the conversion, however, it will be more generic as some of the wiring is not standardized as I discovered. I am going to try to sell the V-10 as a core. Do you know someone who might be interested? I took some pics, but probably not enough.

No, I'm taking those off and putting the diesel stickers from the other truck on there.

Actually, I wrecked the other truck on December the 12th, so I am very excited to actually have my truck up and running again. I did have Dad's and his is a 7.3 so I wasn't going through too bad of withdrawal pains. I live almost next door to them and we work together so I would usually just walk over in the morning and ride with him to work.
I cannot say this enough, THANKS, I would never have attempted this if it had not been for FTE, and particularly this forum. I am going to do my best to come down to Smokin' for at least a day, so hopefully I will get to meet a lot of ya'll.
Good job on the body & frame swap Mike, good to see she is alive again.
Initially, it was going to be a body swap, but after looking at the amount of rust that the other truck had and the minute amount that the new truck had, I just did a motor/transmission swap.
This is the news that I have been waiting for today Mike. Some great news. Congrats on the successful transplant. You must have had a huge grin on your face when she fired up. I'm looking forward to seeing you at Smokin!!!
