I always place a soft cloth at the base of the arm and attach a vise grip (not super tight). Then gently rock it from side to side while pulling upward. Always works for me.

Go to the local parts or tool supply and get a small battery terminal puller it works easy and they dont cost much.

If you look at the base of the wiper you'll see a pin where the wiper arm connects. Pull it out and hold it out and just wiggle it off. And no you don't need to off the grill.

If you lift the wiper arm up there is a tab at the base that pulls out and then when you lower the arm it will stay partway suspended off of the windshield. Then you can just pull the arm off. This is how it is on my 95. I think it may be different on the 80-91 trucks.

This is correct and I am pretty certain applies to all newer Ford trucks, like the 97 up F150 (and the 98 Expedition in the poster's profile).
