What is this

94 7.3 pre-turbo. ?At the front of the motor there are two wires that are plugged into something but they don't go anywhere. They are at the top of what looks like a timing chain cover. They are plugged into a little harness but the other end looks like a dead end.

Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.



Tach sensor is what it sounds like to me.

Should be a mating plug close by, those wires come out of the alternator harness.

You must have a manual trans.......an auto trans will not work without the input from the tack sensor........
