I'm trying to find out what the deal is with disabling the egr. I have an 03 6.0 and ever since I unplugged mine I have had nothing but better performance, it spools faster, holds the same boost, and it also got rid of that goofy muffled idle. So my question is how come people are having problems with this and it works great for me.

I don't think they having problem with this working great or not. It most likely about throwing a code , set the check engine light. And also your hot exhaust gas has access in to the EGR cooler, and you still have some super-hot exhaust in it. So just to unplug the EGR valve won't solve the known problems what we have with the EGR cooler.

They aren't problems it's just the way the truck is designed. Unless you have a tuner and disabled the egr valve, the vains will go into a default setting. You will get more boost at lower rpm's and you will loose boost on the higher rpm's. Go do more test runs with this in mind and you should see the difference.
Go to www.elitedieseleng.com and install the blocker plate between your Turbo up-pipe and the EGR cooler. Leave your EGR plugged in your ECM likes it that way. I did mine and it is awesome.
