Husky Mount Recommendation

I just got a new F350 and am considering updating my Reese 12K from my old F250 to a Husky (Former Valley) 16K DOUBLE PIVOT w/UBS MOUNT
07066

MAX. LOAD CAPACITY‡:16,000 lb. GTW and 4,000 lb. TW.

Does anybody have one of these or heard any stories about them? I think this is the biggest they make. Would it be overkill? I still have a 6000lb 5er but plan to get a 32' 14000 (maybe) later down the road.

Thanks.

I don't have one but if you current hitch is only a single pivot, you will probably like the dual pivot much better. I have a B&W companion hitch, it is a double pivot. It acts very much like a goose neck that pivots in all directions. Double pivot will also keep the load equally on the rear tires. You wont constantly be fighting the suspension in uneven terrain. I'd say go for it.

Thanks

Thanks cangim.

I liked the info that the site and dealer gave me. I am getting tired of using a board under the truck's rear wheel to even out the loading of the trailer when I am in the Boonies.
There's a lot of un-even ground out West here isn't there.

I changed from the single pivot and it really does make things easier for hitching and unhitching.

I have heard a few people say they like the single pivot because it helps with trailer tilt in the wind, but I don't know where they are coming from. I am really happy with the dual pivot action. It is really nice hitching and unhitching. I also really like the fact if it pivots there, it will keep the weight across the rear axle distributed more evenly.

My 'used' TV came with the 12K version of the Husky and I'm glad it did. The hitch on my previous TV was an inexpensive Reese where the locking mechanism for the kingpin was nothing more than a steel bar with a flat piece of steel welded to it. Talk about a 'herky, jerky' tow. (Note that it was a double pivot). The Husky has a kingpin latch that envelops the the kingpin when in tow position and it made all the difference in the world.

I have the husky single in my truck. It came with my trailer and has been great for me.

Is there anywhere that I can get the gooseneck attachment to mount in my rails? I tried calling 5 places in SLC and all I could find were the reese hitch's.
