Service engine lite
Well,it happened again.The battery terminals corroded again as they seem to do so about every month and ,of course, the engine won't run right,the overdrive lite flashes and the service engine lite comes on.I cleaned the corrosion off with a baking soda solution and then brushed the heck out of them with a battery brush and then trying something different,sprayed that red stuff on the terminals and didn't put the positive terminal covers back on.Now,I can't get the service engine lite to go out. I thought that if you took the neg cable off it would go out,but noway. It's not that the engine needs servicing 'cuz that just happened...Help...

all you need is someone with a OBDII scanner or tuner(one with more than just up and down arrows). When you plug it in(ignition off) it will ask you what you want to do...
scroll down until you see "read dtc's"
It will find and list them.
When you exit that screen it will ask if you want to clear the DTC's. HIt yes.
CEL gone :-)

I took the "EX" into the dealer on the way out of town to go camping and they put the scanner on it and it threw all kinds of codes,mostly having to do with harnesses,water in the covers,etc and the tech wondered with all that wrong,how the rig was even running. He finally got it narrowed down to the pigtail in the injectors and then ran an injector check and we could only hear one long and 6 short tests,so he ran it again and the same thing happened,7 injectors. He ran another one and now there were 8,ooppss.We figgered that either the first long zapp was two or mebbee the testing cycle cleared a sticking injector,anyway it's working great and the lite went out.
