Hey! I just lifted my 1977 ford f250 six inches. I was wondering how much slide i should have on my driveshaft yoke? right now i have about four inches, is that enough? Thanks!
assuming you have the same springs, the same load will press upwards the same.
so your length is based on a triangle you can draw on paper - extend a line from the output shaft rearward at the same level, and draw a line from the axle yoke upwards, bisecting this line at 90*
Take the stock truck, unloaded, fully depressed and find out how long the driveshaft must be, then depressed. The difference in the slip needed, the length is yoke to shaft with around 3 inches in the tranny at least.
once lifted you will need a longer driveshaft, but the slip amount will change as well (thats why I say to draw it out - if I had a scanner Id do it and post it)
