Dead Tach
To start off with there ARE NO CODES so dont tell me to go pull them.
I am not really sure what to do if u got any ideas please let me know.
The only thing i can thing to do is replace the module on the distributor problem is i cant get it off as i cant find a socket that will fit in the holes so if u could help me out there as well i would appriciate it.

If it's all the same? I'm going to kinda piggy back watch this one along with you. The tach on our bronco II? Possessed! At idle it's reading about 3,000 RPM (this is while it's struggling to stay running)
I get the feeling both problems are related, and dependent on where the tach siggy is being taken from. Normally it's off the tach line (on older trucks..not sure about the 2.9's) that comes off the coil itself. The factory ones? Not to sure about? The wiring diagrams are very weak in that respect, and I lack funds to go ebay searching for a complete schematic.
I'll be off in the corner watching this one.
