I recently had a problem with the int. lights staying on in my 96 windstar. I removed the door panels after noticing that there were no light switches in the door jambs and lo and behold there they were, attached to the latch mechanism. No matter what I did the lights and that infernal chime would not stop, until you reached 15mph. So,I sprayed the bejesus out of the switches with w.d. 40 , and it worked. No more chiming and the lights go out when you close the doors . I think I read this fix somewhere else on this site,not sure where. It does work.
