While I don't believe they don't make a programmer, I know they do make performance chips for the Ford EEC-IV

Yep there is a abundance of chips out for the ford EEC lV F.I. There are several groups of programmers whom have developed a method to write your own truth tables and fuel mix. I am actually playing with a setup similar to that. There is also a Fuel injection called MegaSquirt, and MegasquirtandSpark. This is a Kool DIY fuel injection system and is the one I will use on my next 2.9 build.

HUGE word of warning....

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY "CHIP" FROM eBAY THAT MAKES CLAIMS OF INCREASED H/P OR BETTER ECONOMY!!!

We went around the bend over at the probe forum about this for a while. That "Chip"? All it is? Just a resistor that fools the computer into thinking the air temp is different then what it actually is. This pile of crap is the biggest scam around. It's about .50cents worth of parts, sold for anywhere from $5.00 to $20.00...***shipped for another 3-4 bucks, with listed postage of under .50cents**

Just do not want to see anyone get burned with this bogus load. Please, PLEASE only use approved vendors, companies, yeah know--people you trust!!

I figured most of these slugs got thrown off eBay, turns out even more turned up with a boat load of bogus feedback, and a "disclaimer" in the fine print.

That is a good warning to all about things like that and to avoid buying a "Pig in a Poke".

A person looking for chips woulds do better to do some preliminary investigation in to who sells what and what really works. As in chips and other items with claims of wild HP gains or millions of miles per Gal. The biggest question to ask yourself is Do you know anybody whom really used these parts. If the claims are true then you should not have any problem finding happy owners anywhere. do a search and find out.

Great Advice

before my 302 swap I had a 2.9 with all the goodies,

World Heads
Headers
Port and polish
exhaust
overbore
milled heads
cam
and lots more

the problem i had was with the ancient fuel injection computer not being able to adjust to all of the different modifications.

I would just do a simple exhaust and intake upgrade, and run synthetic fluids in everything. That way you can still have a reliable truck that makes decent power

Eh? The Ford EEC-IV computer was actually quite advanced, and is pretty popular for fuel injection projects because it is easily modified. It will run pretty much any engine with the proper tuning.
