first i will apologize for my seeming to have dropped off the face of the earth . things have gotten hectic on all fronts and with getting my ars in gear and working on the 53 i dont have much spare time . okay now . what i want your opinion on is oil additives such as lucas , restore , z-max , and the like for high mileage engines . i have used restore once in an old old's i had , and used to use marvel mystery oil regularly . it's for the flatty , as she has a crap load of ground under her shoes and occassionally makes a few funny noises , and i was thinking about adding some to aid her for awhile , till the inevitable comes and i gotta yank her and go through her .so what say you ?? worth it ?? particular brand ?? give me something to think on here guys 'n' gals . later im off to the four letter word again !!!!!!!!!!!

I use the lucas oil additive. It seems to run a little better when I put it in there but then it might just be my imagination. I told a buddy of mine about it and he got some of the Lucas auto trans additive and said he noticed a big difference. He said his car shifts a lot smoother now. I've never used any other kinds so I don't know how it compares.

that's the kinda stuff i want to hear . used the lucas in the work trucks { deisels } and it seemed to work just curios about others experiences and weigh the pro's and con's before i jump into it . as far as funny noises , well that was my way of saying she's getting long in the tooth . no real noises that can be attributed directly to the flatty , just a couple of leaks { fix one two more show up !!! } and was hoping the additives would close up the tolerances some more like the rotella in her . just a little chemical quick fix till that day ....... so any one else , especially someone with hard core proof of it one way or the other !!!!!!!!
