Camper Shell Wiring

I'm trying to find a 12 volt always on power source near the truck bed. I need it to power dome lights in a camper shell. Thanks, Roger_Dailey(No Email Addresses In Posts!)

Camper Shell Wiring

I had the same problem and the (not the best, I'm sure) way I got around it was to tap into the dome light power located in the cab underneath the removable plastic plate on the passenger side. Use caution and be gentle when lifting it out or you may break it. You'll need a voltmeter to find the right wire to tap into. There is a drawback-the truck has a battery saver feature. After a certain amount of time (20 min?), you'll have to open one of the doors to get the light to work. You'll have to run the wire through a grommet back to the shell.
