Anyone have an idea if those caps that indicate tire pressures are very accurate. Saw some at the store the other day. The package claimed they would show an indication before a 5 pound loss of pressure.
I was thinking along the same lines about the stem being open. Glad I didn't spend the $10.00 on them, and bought the black plastic ones instead. I'm thinking of getting some with the Ford logo though.
I bought 8 of these. 3 or 4 had leaks so I took them back and still had a few leakers. I think some of the leakage had to do with getting them put on just right or maybe just pure luck.
However, I do have a set of 4 that finally have not leaked on my wifes car over 3 years or so and they do seem to work. When the green color is gone, they will be about 5 below rating.
I probably would not buy any more unless I found some American made ones or maybe from a quality outfit.
Besides, I kinda like using my tire guage and doing a walk around, makes me look like I might know something.
I have white caps that indicate nitrogen inside. Guess they were put on by Ford, don't really know. I'm surprised that no ones stole them yet. Knock on wood
My friend just bought another 55 chevy. It had dice caps with wheel covers. He took the caps off and threw them away. His thinking was that if the covers came loose, they would be held to the wheel by the caps, and tear off the vavle stems. jd
Sort of makes sense with the dice caps. Don't have to worry about that with the Ranger. It has standard steel wheels and the hub caps are just big enough to cover the lug nuts!!
