Smog pump issues.

Ok, I really have no issue with the A.I.R. System on my pickup, I just wanted to know how the vacum lines and injection/suction hoses were all routed and what steps needed to be taken in removing the system with out throwing any codes. It's a 460, in a '94 F-250, 4WD. I just got done installing a set of headers, and hedman headers don't have the fittings for the A.I.R. system, just the EGR valve. I don't have any kind of a smog inspection in my state, so I'm not really worried about it (hell I've had strait pipes on it for 2 years and havn't had a word said to me.) So, if any of yall have ran into this problem maybe you can help me out.
Thanks.

*****The resently added headers with 3in exhaust strait back and a MSD coil brought me up to 12mpg, with my foot in it. And it sounds really cool too.*******

Every motor has this system routed a little different so you'll have to look for yourself. In general the system consists of a pair of solenoids typically mounted over by the coil, the air pump, a pair of vacuum actuated valves, and a load of plumbing. I have the system partially removed on the 5.0 I just put in my truck, I removed all the plumbing and valves, plugged the heads, removed all the vacuum lines assocoated with the system, and have the air pump outlet plumbed directly into the exhaust downstream of the O2 sensor but upstream of the cat. I also left the solenoids on the truck and electrically plugged in, I didn't really need to do this because I have a tuner and can turn the whole system off, but if you don't have this ability you'll need to keep these solenoids. I can't comment on how this will work out yet because I just got the motor going last night, but it's certainly a lot tidyer. Others have removed the air pump as well but this requires a shorter belt or an idler pulley, I have to pass emissions so I figured I'd leave the pump on there.

Thanks, I was getting ready to remove the solenoids that you mentioned. I will be removing the AIR pump, and the problem that I had was that on the 460 all of the plumbing was in the stock manifolds, not in the heads, otherwise I would have left it all alone when doing my headers.
