Engine Coolant

2004 F150 4.6L. Coolant has never been flushed or changed. Would really like to do some preventative maintenence so that I know the coolant is fresh and full, as well as a new thermostat. Coming up on 70K miles now.

What kind of coolant have you guys used for my specific model. I would assume Prestone Antifreeze ( the yellow/greenish color) would be just fine.

Your truck uses gold colored antifreeze. If you use any other color coolant you will have problems. You should also flush or replace the coolant evry two (2) years minimum. The
reason for this is because the corrosion inhibitors in the antifreeze wearout (are used up or consumed) by electrolysis, which causes rust and cooling system component failure.
