Where's Double D?
I know the whole F-150 world isn't too good right now but what happened to Dearborn Derek and his "inhouse" knowledge of the F-150? I'd like to know WHEN the 09' F-150 is actually going to be built?

My "inhouse" knowledge is no more. Dearborn cut one shift (from 3 to 2). We had A LOT of high seniority people transfer in before the cut. I did not make the cut. Those that did make the cut go back to work Sept.22. (unless its been pushed back, then I don't know). Myself, I'm waiting for Ford to call with a job offer (anywhere) so I can go back to work. So right now I'm sitting in limbo...Most likely I will never build an F-150 again. Really sucks...I gave three years of my life (of and on) to the 09 project and wont get to be part of the launch...Well it's not what you know (or can do) at Ford, it's how much time you have.

That's a real kick in the shorts. I for one have enjoyed you insight on the Next Generation F-150. Thank you for all your hard work on the 2009 F-150 & I hope that you are back to work (somewhere) soon.

Sad but true. Doesn't help the company IMO. Hope you get back to building trucks soon.

Sorry to hear it but hopefully Ford will call with something soon. Keep your head up and good luck. I know how you feel I went from an aerospace mechanic to a corrections officer. Good luck again Derek and hope you land on your feet.
