Well, went to the track today... Me and stroken were the only two smoke-rolling diesels, there was one 08 f-450 work truck, but otherwise 100+ gasser Fords, mostly mustangs at this all-Ford event. I took my small shopping cart wheels with me, and made the first run with the heavy 35's on. I powerbraked for a wee bit too long, shifted to second before i left and gave a poor start. That run netted a:
Not what i was hoping for, i wanted to be in the low 14's possibly break a 13.9 but that's not happening in my slow *** pig the way it is now. I hope to go back in a few weeks and try again, i'll be closer, plus it won't be 90* out.
Pics are to come, i got my photographer to take pics today, and also some of me riding my 700 tonight, so once they are up the truck pics are to come
Done that before, spooled up too long, went to high RPM's and it wanted second gear instead of first. Also had another incident where the PCM and the speed sensors didn't get along, which I am sure you seen info on that.
Look at the bright side since you were expecting better times, at least your post didn't say, New vented block mod. lol
Kris,
I bet you could get into the lower 14's. I think you could get your 60' down a lil lower. Did you spin coming off the line and what kinda boost did you leave at?
I didnt spin off the line, i was probably 15-20 psi when i left, its so hard to look at stuff when youre up there at the line, you see that last yellow and youre off. Ive had a 1.9x 60' before, IDK why it was acting up this time, my RT wasnt bad, plus time doesnt start until you go. Next time i go i'll have some more get up and go...
yeah i know what you mean about watching everything. I have only been twice so far in my truck and its hard to look at everything. I was on a eighth mile track and i left at around 8 psi and my time slip said i had a 2.0 60' and i ran a 9.85. I know your truck had a lot more power then mine. Only reason why i was wondering if it spun or not.
No, i dont know. Its been like this for a while, i just think i have a lazy truck. My truck with similar mods as other guys puts out way less HP on the dyno, is slower going down the road, the mileage sucks, etc, plus i had the same 1/8 mile time on the first run as i did down in Smokin 07 when i had stock injectors...
Kenny has 250cc hybrids, H2E and an auto. He hit a deer so his front hub on one side was trashed so he ran in 2wd, power brake a little bit and he spun through the 330 and ended up 15.78, 15.7x and a third run of 16.08, which was pretty embarassing. He said he wanted to go home, sell the lift and tires, and be fast like me.
That white caa ran a 15.3 when i ran the 15.2 Its amazing how much .1 second is at the top end of the track, about two car lengths. I was launching in 4hi
I may try to get to the test and tune this week. I am sure it has better in it. Edit: I actually need a 1/4 track closer. Don't want to window a block over 100 miles away.
