Door Ajar Light

I have a 2001 F150. The door ajar light won't turn off. Along with the door ajar light, the back outside lights won't turn off. The only way I can get the light off is when the fuse is taken out. Then when the fuse is out, the power windows won't work. I have taken this to a mechanic and they are unable to find the problem. Any suggestions?

Just spray the driver door latch with WD40 and it will clean the sensor.

Don't go back to that mechanic......
If the wd-40 doesn't do it, or it happens again, you'll need to change the switch in the door.

I had the same issue, not on my truck, but my ford Taurus, and WD40 did the trick.

WD40 right in the door latch about once a year works for me. Lake Erie walleye fishermen used to spray the nightcrawler with WD40 as a fish attractant. Either way you can't lose.

Odd you should say that. Every time I pass a lake I find that fish are chasing me ............

Just kidding. WD40, Deep Creep, etc. should do the trick.
