speedometer gears

76 f100 was three on the tree, now has np 435, 360, should be 3.8 rear. speedometer now reads about 11 mph slower than actual. what to do? what to do?

I went through this with a c6 a few years ago and I ended up getting a small little gear box made up that went inline with the cable seams to work just fine. I can't remember where I got it from though.

Might be as easy as pulling the speedo cable from the gearbox, slide a clip out, and change the gear. Seems to me the Fords are color coded for axle ratio. I'm not positive-but the gears may even be generic from standard to auto, and so forth.
A good Ford parts guy should be able to help ya.
