Alternator issues

I just put a '93 351 in my '86 that had a 300. My problem is, the 300's alternator had two plugs in it, a little two wire plug and a bigger three wire plug. The 351's alternator has the same small plug, but just a single wire in the back. Where do the three wires from the old plug go?

the alternator mounts should be the same, so you could just swap the old one on to the new motor.

The larger three wire switch goes this way... if your alt is like the 3G alt.

The two larger gauge wires are the power feeds. They can both go into the single hookup on the back of the alt. The small wire is the Stator wire. That one you have to either get a OEM style clip and hook it to your new alt. It should have a little spot for this wire near the other plug.
Maybe you should post pics to make sure we're talking aobut the same style alt.
My 93 mustang had the same plugs my 86 pickup has, those same two plugs......
