Had a blowout on my 01 F150 right front side. Decided to go ahead and put new tires on it. After the flat and new tires mounted, the pickup pulls to the right. Had it aligned, to which the mechanic said it still pulled and recommended a cam kit and another alignment. During this time I rotated wheels, tried the old rear ones, put new ones on plus a new 20 Enkei wheel. Still pulls and alignment people said as far as the alignment, it is close to being perfect but it still pulls. When I had the flat, I used a floor jack and I was wondering if I could have damaged something by putting the jack in a wrong place. Anyone have any ideas as this truck is in pristine condition and was straight as an arrow before the flat. When I put the spare on I think it pulled but I attributed this to the spare being a stock 16 and the other wheels being enkei 20's. Thanks!!
When you had the flat did the tire come apart or just go down? If it shredded check for chunks in the caliper that may be acting like a wedge …Is the right running hot?
Thanks for the replies. I will definitely check these out. The tires and wheels have been changed several times and the calipers looked fine but I may take another look at them. I don't think the tire was shredded to the point it would leave any rubber. I had two different alignment businesses check the alignment, so I don't believe the alignment is an issue and since the tires have been rotated and changed at least six times I don't think it is the tires so it surely has to be something else pretty wild as the pull is very obvious. Thanks again
If the calipers check out the only other thing I can think of is a bad wheel bearing. Any decent alignment shop would spot that right now. Just came to mind ,several people have posted about the rubber brake line wearing internally creating a check valve and holding the brakes on , just something else to check , let us know what you find
