Water in WMO

I am trying to get the water out of some oil that I have from a friend. I trust the oil is good quality since his pickup is new(ish).

My question is how long should I heat the oil to ensure the water is all out. Are there any distinct things I should be looking for?

Thanks
Thad

i would use gravity to get most of it out.. you may have to let it sit for a couple days to get it to separate.. then suck the oil from the top or let the water out from the bottom
if your going to cook it out you have to get the oil hotter than 212f watch it tell it stops making tiny bubbles
cooking it out is dangerous
as you heat it you get closer to the flash point..... if it lights on fire the water bubbles will make steam.... combining steam with hot oil that is on fire is explosive
i don't suggest cooking it
water and oil will separate if you give it time

Just let gravity take care of it. Give it a day or so and just pour the WVO off the top. Yeah there will always be some water in it but not anywhere near the quantity that would cause a problem. I dont even run a water separator in my truck for diesel or WVO. It would have to get a good gulp of water to make your engine stall. Put your WVO in a clear container. If you can't see any water droplets in the bottom you are good.
