replaced distributer and ignition pickup this morning...........No Luck!!!
also swapped out the platinum plugs for motorcraft coppers. no change either
My 92 was a very early production, manufactured in Aug 91. Went back to advanced auto after I was almost positive it was a problem with the egr valve, and we compared a 91 to a 92 egr valve. They are just a little bit different. Installed the egr valve for a 91 and has been running like a top ever since. I hope this helps you out! I spent a small fortune til I stumbled across the real problem

I just started to get the cel light at higher rpms and pulled the codes when i got home from work. Code 32. This indicates that the egr position sensor is out of range. Researching it a bit more I have found that could mean a malfunction EGR or the sensor itself. I believe it was on fordfuelinjection.com that I found that there are 2 different sensors. Match the colors of the sensor if you are replacing them. Apparently they read different values. I am going to the salvage yard this weekend to see if I can pick up a used EGR and sensor to try out before trying a new $150 EGR and sensor. I will let you know how this turns out.
We discovered that I had the wrong EGR valve by counting the spring rings inside the valve. Count the rings in the one you take off and compare to your replacement
So far I've only replaced the sensor with no difference. I gotta use some penetrant on the nut on the bottom on the valve. I couldn't get it to budge even with a large pipe wrench! I'm afraid if I put it to it it'll break the threads off from the EGR valve inside the nut.
hey i got my issues with the 300-6 not having any power and sputtering!!! the injectors were clogged with rust that was building up in the fuel rail, take off your fuel rails and clean it out many times with brake cleaner, then gently blow and tap the rust deposits out of your injectors the re assemble, my truck is running crazy good right now, lol im happy, hope this helps some of you out!
So I replaced the EGR with one from the local pick a part. I cleaned it out as best I could and made sure it would hold a vacuum. After replacing the truck did run better, but the truck still stumbles a bit under load.
