Exhaust hangers

I just bought a Summit Racing 3" cat back system for my 1982 F150 w/300 CI. The kit cover years from 1980 to 1996. The hangers supplied with the kit are for the (newer, 1987-1996?) models and come with the 1/4" (?) rods for use with the rubber isolators ILO the flat rubber and strap steel hangers for my model year. I would like to used the newer hangers and isolators, as mine are shot. Is the hanger part that bolts to the frame a direct replacment for what I have? Do I need to get these from the dealer? It seem simple enough to fab something up if I knew what they looked like. Pictures/diagrams or a source would be a great help. Thanks.

And yes a 3" exhaust is overkill on the stock 6 cyl, but it was cheaper and easier to find than the stock system (so far!)

With a 3" system you are going to lose some back pressure and probably hurt the performance of the I6.

yeh you'll actual totally hurt back pressure but the catback system will help a little but not enough to offset the 3" pipes shouldve waited and forked out some extra to get a 2.5" system
