Very interesting, but really does not seem worth the trouble to me. He kinda makes me worry about my 4" lift and broken shackles though He is not really gaining any strength, is he? I know he did a cost breakdown, but my eyes were blurry from the colors and the reading by that time lol. I just think that if one were to go through the cost and time of this that a SAS a swap with a 60 would be cheaper and easier for the amateur, and a 44 swap would definitely be cheaper. Interesting idea, however it must have never caught on because after 10 years I have yet to see a kit to convert TTB to solid axle lol.
It is interesting, but the cost was in the 90s & I thought pretty pricey. If I was going to do anything to my TTB I would replace it with a Dana 60 solid axle.
And you would still have the same TTB 44-50 weak points. Interesting idea, but I agree that a SAS would be much easier and more reliable. Does anyone know where I can find a D-60 front west of the Mississippi? They all seem to be in New England and the shipping alone is terrible out here to Washington..
