Dual Alternator Output?
Does anyone know exactly how much charge current I can expect from the dual alternators when idling at what looks to be 700-750 rpm on the tachometer (I don’t have an idle controller). I would like to be able to charge my camper batteries when the solar panels aren’t keeping up with battery use and could, in theory, use 1/10 of the battery capacity or about 22 amps. I will probably run #6 AWG charging wires in parallel with the current harness from the relay/fuse output and ground back to my camper batteries to reduce any voltage drop. By the way, the relays that came in the towing package are part number FOAB 148192-A. I can only hope that since Ford put a 30 amp fuse in this circuit that the relay contacts can handle the 30 amps. Does anyone know if this is a stupid hope?
