Gunslinger 1980 help! this chic needs truth

i just bought this 1980 ford f - 100 and was told that the Gunslinger was named that by ford . there are some old stickers and an emblen of two rifles pointed up away at eachother. but no one has been able to tell me if this is a true custom make and title of this truck

Never heard of it. Could be something a local dealership did, but I doubt it came from the factory that way.

Definitely never heard of that, either. What engine does it have and what transmission? Your VIN might shed a little light, too... But, I'm doubting this.

thank you for taking the time to respond to my post, i will have to find out about that trani it is rebuilt with 4,000 miles on it. also i wiil post some pictures in the next couple weeks. take care
