Spindle interchange

I have a 79 F350 i need to put king pins in, I also have A 73 F350 I am useing for parts, can I have the new pins pressed into the spindles from the 73 and then install them on the 78? I don't won't my 78 down, I use it almost daily!! Thanks, Tim

I would call a local ford dealer or a good parts dealer and ask them to check the part #s for both years of your truck. If they are the same part # you can get the new one ready to go in before removing the old one. Hope this helped.

Both should be 1" kingpins and I think you should be fine. As said before - go to Ford or an autoparts store and ask for the kingpins for each year - then have them see if the part numbers come up the same.
