Quick GEM question
Are the GEM versions interchangeable? In other words, I am in the middle of converting a 2000 F-250 from a V-10 to a 7.3 diesel. The original GEM for the diesel is a version D and the GEM for the V-10 is a version E. The GEM for the gas engine has keyless entry which is why I want to use it instead of the one that came with the diesel. Any help would be appreciated, Mike.

I am not sure. It communicates on the computer network, so it may not swap. I do know the instrument cluster is on the network too, and it cannot be swapped unless the dealer puts their programmer on the network, and inputs numbers in to make it work.
