Bought an "04 F-150 Lariat SC new from my local dealer. Have had it services only by them. The transmission crapped out 2 1/2 years ago with 39,000 miles 0n it, Ford put in a remanufactured one. The "new" transmission had a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty from Ford.
Well I have 38,000 miles on this trans and You quessed it, the torque converter and pump went south leaving pieces of metal in the trans.
The dealer gave me 2 options, new torque converter and pump in the old trans [$2,000] or a new trans and torque converter[$2,500-2,800]. The dealer won't help with the cost because its out of warranty.
