I got a good deal on my remanned one through the dealership... And out the door with labor was $9,000. And that was a really good deal. You can get "never been fired" motors from a place but they are not new, they are left over from ford. Ford no longer has a contract with International/Navistar (the company that makes the 7.3l) The remmaned motors like the one i got was actually rebuilt by CAT. Either way I would recommend getting one to ANYONE. Plus it still comes with the 2 year unlimited mile warranty from Ford. Heres some links to help you out...

Scroll to the bottom of the page and you can see the "never been fired" ones

They will be rebuilt, unless there is a stock of new crate engines in inventory somewhere. If the 7.3 was made today it would have to meet 2008 emissions, since that goes by the date of engine manufacture.
