Single Mass Flywheel
He wants 300 clams for it which seems kind of high to me. It is used and needs surfaced, which my Dad can do for free. He says it is not heat-checked or discolored.
I am assuming I will need a clutch with the "springs" in it as I'm also assuming the dual-mass flywheel has the "springs" built into it.
I'm pretty sure my DMF is making the annoying, rattling sound under my truck as I've heard they do that when the (one?,more?) "springs" go bad.
I am totally new to this DMF thing but what I do know I don't like.
Would I be better off with a "kit" to convert this?
Unless that rattling noise (intermittent) is the sighn of immenent doom and collateral damge I'm not going to change it until I have a problem. If this flywheel is a good deal, of which I have my doubts, I'd like to get it now though.
The guy seems to know something of which he speaks as he listed it as being for an IDI, not just 7.3 or Ford diesel or something.
OH! ALSO! I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't but will it work on my '94 turbo?
CheeperJeeper and PLC7.3, I already got your info so if you don't want to write out all that again don't worry about it!
