Help! 4 wheel ABS vs. 2 wheel ABS
As most of you know I am in the process of fixing the truck that I wrecked. Originally, I was planning on swapping the cab from the truck that I bought to my old frame, however, once I started I realized that my original frame had a lot of rust and the other truck was almost completely rust free. That is what is causing me problems. The newer truck has 4 wheel abs while the older truck does not. As I am changing the motor and transmission over I am also having to do the brake system since I am converting from a gasser to a diesel. My question is: Will the 4 wheel abs system work with the diesel's PCM? Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to give a little background so as to describe the problem a bit better. Thanks, Mike.

I don't think it really matters. If I understand my this and my wiring diagram correctly, the only thing related to the diesel PCM is the VSS reading "from" the ABS module to determine vehicle speed. The 4 wheel ABS just has more inputs used by the ABS module for determining brake lock up and operating the brake modulating valves accordingly. My '01 Lariat has the 4 whl ABS.
