Ok I broke the ol' girl again. Left the yard last night with around 800# in PVC board on the rack. Hit some bumps and heard a couple off groans then the brakes only to feel the ladder rack dip and touch the roof of the cab( had my hand out the window on the roof) Got out and the right front corner of the bed is about and inch lower then it should and the left side is up. Limped home and unloaded to find that the front bed strut was rusted worse than I thought.(crushed in fact.) I thought I had been doing a pretty good job in keeping up with the rust but........ Any one else have similar probs? So it lloks like this weekend will be spent pulling the bed off and trying to find something the same size as the strut to weld in its place. Been meaning to do this for a year or so to dress the top of the frame. Any advice for rust inhibitor? Thanks
