spark plug gap

spark plug gap

I have a 351c 4v out of a 72 mustang in a 81 f150. what should i set the spack plug gap to? How do i know if its a points or electronic ignition? (pretty sure its electronic)

I wasn't too sure about mine, but I set it at .045". Thats for a 351M from a 77 f150, again, I wasn't too sure, I just went with what my chilton manual had, which was written in over and around the table.

do you know how to tell if the ignition is points or electronic? the gap recommended is 0.35 but that is on a point ignition. electronic is like 0.42

Not too sure really, I believe if you look under your distributer, that will tell you. That would be where the points are, but double check all this information. Google can be useful, just be careful where you do get the information.
