this is a great site for us powerstroke owners who live in are own little diesel world, being able to get info and give info to each other is what makes this place such a success and one of the first things i do at the end of the day BUT, if you you were a stranger and were to scoll down the topics you'd say (man, those diesels are nothing but a pain in the ***-problem prone-money drawing out of my pocket-don't know what the problem is) truck. just look at the topics in order-what da ya think?
i'm also in the middle of a three month endless amount of problem after problem myself.
That's very true Brian, but you have to remember that this place would be pretty boring if all we did is come home and post "I drove 1,000 miles last week and didn't have any problems" (which I did).
I think that no matter what type of vehicle form or thread you find on the www will be about either fixing problems, or fixing things up. What makes this place work so well is the amount of knowledge floating around here and the willingness to share it. I found this place looking for some info, asked and received a bunch of help and suggestions when my truck had an electrical gremlin at 225,000 miles and kind of became hooked. Not to mention feeling obliged to repay the help I received.

hope ya don't get me wrong, i really love my truck and this site (i check in here seven nites a week) religously, but i think i'm just on a bad stretch of a bunch of minor headaches, i figure eventually with all my new parts i'll have a new truck and can start my ten year warranty all over again!
I found this site because my trip computer crapped out. That was in January well now I'm hooked. As Chris said, with everything that i have learned here, i fell obligated to help out when i can.
There are post about how good these engines are and how well they get the job done. They tend to fall through the board fast as most people here share the good fortune of a problem free engine. The ones that come here with problems, and yes I have had some problems, need the advise and those post stay at the top of the boards while we all jump in with our advise. We will try to keep those post active until the problem is resolved. Like Chris said, a thread about how great these trucks are don't last long as no one here are surprised and can't add much. Your point is a good one and I guess we should post more about how well our trucks do and how long we go between problems, but for some reason, we don't.
Well I hope I dont jinx myself but I have 94000 miles on my truck and I have only had to replace the drag link, tie rod ends and 1 cps. Other than typical maintenance (oil changes, fuel filters, coolant and belt) I think I have had good service from her. I sure hope I can get another 200000 out of her and with the help of everyones help here I dont think it will be a problem!!!!
I bet you over 75% of the members here, came here because they had a problem with their truck and were seeking help. They got an answer, saw how cool we are around here, and continued to post.

'EXACTLY'
If I had of seen this forum 5 years ago, I would never have bought my truck...but that being said, in the last 5 years I have fallen in love with my truck and would'nt part with it till I 'have' to!
After the initial 'shock' of this forum, I have really found that most problems are common and fairly minor in the whole scheme of things!
And the cool people around here will, I am sure, keep my F'ee on the road for as long as I need
I know for me i used to look thru all the posts and see what everybody was doing to their trucks and also find out why my truck was cutting out soon after startup, CPS. I never checked out any other Ford sites but this one and glad i did, great bunch of people here that know their stuff and friendly also.

Thats why I have become a supporter, the stuff I have learned from everyone here has given me the confidence to tackle just about anything that might give me a problem.

That's one of the reasons I keep my mileage in my sig. To show everyone that 260k is no big deal on these things. Of course several others here have more mileage than I do. Some have way more.
Brian, I would leave this site and never come back. I came here because I had my first problem with my 7.3, kept dieing. These guys told me the CPS is bad and to change it. I went to the dealer and bought one, changed it in the parking lot. Turned the key, vvvaaarrrroooommmm, it started right up.
Now for the other part. 1 1/2 years from then, I have spent close to 5,000 $$ and still don,t have my injectors, BTS-TRANS and live tuning from DP-TUNER. I know I have to have this done before April. So looking at another 7,000 $. I am touching 120,000 miles on my 7.3, the only thing I changed on the engine is the CPS. Becides the normal maint. and mods. Nobody made me do all this, but, I felt I needed to do this for the good of man kind.
I wonder what this makes me?
Another thing, I came here with the Superchip, muffler delete and a K&N. Thats all I new to do to my truck.
