truck/trailer wireing
76 f100 with 360. have 7 prong hooked up except for the wire to charge trailer battery when running.where would this be tied in to the truck? [altrenator,battery, etc ? thanks

Usually runs off the battery to a cct breaker then out to the plug on the truck. I use a 25 amp breaker on both the battery and the trailer brake cct and have never had any trouble, hope this helps.

thanks again will go with 10 wire. do you disconnect the plug to stop drain on the truck battery when your parked? a guy can never have too many trucks. am doing a frame off on a 38

I always unplugged just to make sure the trailer didn't kill the truck battery. I don't have all those trucks currently, just the 79 460 and thats in the middle of a frame off as well. Is that a 38 pickup?? I just did a service call on my buddy's 34 Chev truck, throttle buttery broke off, what a freak.
