Rear Brake QUestion

Getting ready to replace brakes on 2000 X. Other vehicles I own need the tool to 'push' piston back into caliper. WIll I need the tool for my 2WD rear disc or do they just push back in with C-clamp?
IS their a link to the complete replacement precedure someone could provide? Thanks

I followed the following for my front brakes...not sure how much different the rears are...BTW...you will note a 'C' clamp used to depress the caliper piston.

Good luck,
joe.

I'm pretty sure there are no special tools required for the rears. It seems to me they compressed just like the fronts and a c clamp will work fine.

I'll join in and say there are no special tools required.

A C-clamp works fine.

Be sure to replace the spring clips when you change the pads.

Don't forget to give them a little break in treatment after the install to seat the pads properly.

Also, make sure the rotors are in good shape and don't need to be replaced as well.

Guzzle's site is good.

A $15.00 Haynes manual from the parts store can be helpful as well. Gives a photo break down of simple repairs such as brakes, shocks, etc...

Have fun.

Look to see how your e-brake shoes are doing too.

Also, be sure and open the bleeder when you push the calipers in so that you don't push potentially scorched fluid back into the line. It's also a good idea to bleed the brakes enough so that you completely change the fluid.
