Keypad entry question.

Just bought a used '07 Explorer that has the keypad entry on the drivers door.

My question is, where do I get the code that it is set to now or how do I reset it with my own code?

look in the drivers side rear compartment where the jack is located. you will need a mirror to see the label on the keyless module as it is located toward the front of the compartment

I don't know where the module with the code is located on the Gen 4's. Did you look through this long thread to see if anyone posted info for your year?

If the info is not in that post then please add it in there when you find out. Thanks.

oops!
my bad-i read that as 97 not 07. on the 07 it should be in the right side c pillar trim panel area close to the second row seat but it is my understanding that ford has quit putting the lable on them so that you will have to go to the dealer and let then scan the system to get it for you.

Lucky enough, I found mine this morning on a card that looks like a credit card that was stored in a special place with the manual... Nice! Thanks!

Well, it's off to the dealer.

I looked in the owners manual and it gives you three options for retrieving the code.

1. Get it off of the card that's with the owners manual (my card is missing)
2. Get it off of the PCM cover (it's not there)
3. Go to the dealer

I'm stuck with option 3. It has to go in for the brakes anyway so I'll kill two birds with one stone.
