Anyone know how to reset the ECU on a 98 Expedition? I removed the wrong fuse while trying to isolate a rear wiper problem and now my "Airbag" warning light flashes a few times then stays on. The fuse I removed was for the airbag fault detection circuit and I am assuming that the ECU saw this as a fault. I know on most cars the unit saves fault data and shows the appropriate warning when the vehicle is started. This forces you to take the thing in to the dealer to have it checked. if they don't find a problem they just reset the switch. On one of my other cars you can reset the ECU by removing battery power for a few hours, but I did that on the Expo for 12 hours and it didn't work.
I don't now were you located, but goto a AUTOZONE or something simalar, and see if they will scan your ecu and when there done, have them clear the code.
Disconnect the Positive side of the battery for a few mins. then reconnect, the computor always resets itself when Battery is disconnected. Then turn key to the on position Only! and then off, do that 3 times at a few seconds each. then turn on to run.
