Check Engine Lights/Instrument Lights

So I noticed a yellow/orange colored light that came on in the lower left corner of my gauge cluster. It kind of looks like a pipe fitting shape of some sort. Does anyone know what idiot light this stands for? EGR? CAT? Service Engine?

Thanks

Cory

Does it look like a wrench? If so that is the check engine light.

I wouldn't say it looks like a wrench. More like a pipe fitting believe it or not of some sort. Its the one down in the lower left corner.

I found out it is the "emissions system" and after I disconnected the battery cable, the light has gone away. Not sure what may have caused it...EGR? CAT?

How are you erasing it, are you doing what I do and just disconnect a battery cable? I really would like to fix the problem.

Make sure you tighten your gas cap. It sounds stupid but it's a minor thing that trips that light a lot.

I'm using a code reader I got from autozone. It tells you the codes and what they are then you can erase them. Unhooking the battery works just pain in butt.

Do you know exactly which code reader it is? Im interested in purchasing one.

Does it work with all OBII vehicles?
