More build progress.

More progress made yesterday and this evening.

Got the boxing plates tacked in.
<O</O

Passengers side view.<O

Drivers side view.
<O
Brackets for the top of the 4-bar tacked on the plates and the diff.

<O

Had to fabricate the brackets for the drivers side of the diff. the stock ones in the kit were way too short. God I Love my Plasma cutter!!!
<O</O
<O</O
Jacked the frame up higher and ran the diff through the full range of motion. No binding.
Looks like I am almost ready for the next step, the cross member to hang the Shockwaves from and the sway bar mounts.

Looks like a nice setup; Where did you get the kit. I need to get the bars for my Jag IRS.

It's the universal triangulated 4-bar kit from Air Ride Technologies. I would imagine if all you want is the bars, you could get them for a more reasonable price.

Check Smiley's speed shop. They sell swaged steel bars in various lengths from 4" to 3' or so. They also have Heim joints and I bet you can put together the bars you need for a reasonable price.

The ART kit was a little over $400. The reason I went with it was mostly for the brackets, with them having done the research and gotten the angles right and so forth...

Looks great man. What plasma do you have? I have the 2nd best kind. THE NEIGHBORS! what's 1st best? free.
If you had it to do again, would you still buy the kit?

hey Claude. I think you might be able to do even better. Go visit Rich at Elite Street Rods, just south of downtown. They build all that stuff in house for the big guys to sell. A buddy got a smokin deal on all tubular control arms for his MII a few years back. His deals were like the ol' gas stations - cash price is a little lower.

I would buy the kit again. It was easy to install. All the pieces that I needed were there.

In fact, I am going to buy some of the front end stuff from them too for compatibility in components. I am planning a MII front end and want the strong arms with Shockwave 1000 and sway bar.

Thank you. I am getting more confidence with my welding every time I pick up the torch.

The idea I had about using the RV levelling jack stands with screw adjustments has turned out to be a very good one. I get infinite adjustment within the range of the jackstands and I have 2 different sizes for varying heights.

They have come in very handy for levelling the diff and frame. I made some little saddles that keep the frame from sliding off the buttons.
