A-pillar spotlight
A-pillar spotlight
I have always thought it would be kinda cool to have one of those police spotlights on my truck.. so im thinking about putting one on my truck.
I gotta couple of questions though..
-How hard are they to install?
-Does anybody have any pics of them on a F-series?

You need a Unity model 250 (5") or 325 (6") spotlight assy and 240 (inside post) or 229 (door mount) mount kit for the left side.

I've toyed w/the idea of traditional "A-pillar spotlight" several times, even bought the spotlight. However I was also "hesitant" & could never bring myself to cut that much 'meat' out of an "A-pillar" after looking at the oblique angle, routed out & filed hole made in a junkyard cop car.
The "A-pillar" location also makes a spotlight kind of 1 eyed, partially blind to the right. If I was going to add a remote spotlight I think I'd put it on the roof & ncranchero's link includes the classic spotlight in roof mount form. There are also a variety of marine electric remote spotlights to consider, including 'wireless' remotes. If you've got an open bed, a spotlight on the roof can give 360 degree coverage. They can also be mounted on a light bar behind the cab, eliminating drilling the roof.
