I was just looking at the Maryland members list and to
date we have 80 members. So where is everyone?

Maybe it's time to re-contact the membership to see if there is ANY interest in this Chapter!

 

80 members??? hey I'm here sometimes

 

Life comes before this chapter. Not everyone can sit around on a computer all day trolling the forum.

 

Some of us can't even stop by the site once a YEAR and say Hello!

 

What I'm really trying to say is - If we have 80 some odd members, they MUST have had SOME reason to join....It would only be reasonable to ask that they stop by once a month (at least) to say they are still alive and hope to have time to participate once or twice a YEAR to remain as active members.

If they find they no longer wish to be members, we can handle THAT too, but it would be nice to know so we can quit spinning our wheels! ( Pun indended)

If we aren't doing what THEY want to do, we sure could use THAT input so we could MAYBE do something that THEY want to do. How can we please ANYONE if nobody tells us what it is they would like to see done or do?

Maybe we are electing the wrong leaders.......FINE, so be it. Let's do something about that....but no one is going to change anything by NOT particapating in any Chapter activities.... I am ashamed to tell you how many votes we cast in the last election!! I will tell you it sure weren't many! Maybe a tenth of the membership! Adrian send the ballots to each member that has registered as a Maryland Chapter member....can you imagine the low percentage of people that are going to elect our next President of the United States???? WHY? Oh I don't have the TIME to go vote....I'm not interested in who wins.....I only care in what affects ME!! Believe it or not folks, this affects YOU!! A Chapter of the FTE or a citizen of the United States....only the numbers are different...the percentages remain pretty much the same!

OK...I've been on this bandwagon long enough.....I'm sure this is boring to many but at least I feel better! You've heard the saying - "Use It or Lose It". We're losing it!

 

Screw them Dave. If they haven't posted in 3 months, then whack them from the chapter. It's better to have 2 active members than to have 400 inactive users. Do it brother, I'm with ya. And, I do it all the time............ Trust me Bud, you aren't going to get anything out of the people who don't post. I fight this battle every couple of months.

I would do what rev says, I do agree with him. If you are looking for new members, you can recruit them just by going to the grocery store. Under the forums tab you will find spotters cards. Print them out take them with you. You see a Ford Truck at lets say wal mart. Be friendly and drop him a card to promote the chapter.

 

i work 2 jobs (seven days a week) and still time to browse the forum. i may not be able to make it to all the events, but i at least browse and post when i can.

I still want to be a part of this, it's just that my computer isn't working properly and hopefully get it figured out soon.
