Ford didn't make a big block overdrive auto till 87 and they were electronic shift. There is a computer module kit avail to put that tranny in an old truck for about $400. I plan on doing this mod to my own 460, I have the tranny but can't find time to work on my own stuff.

So the 400m is considered a big block?
as far as putting in a manuel trans, wouldnt the brackets and such out of a manuel trans truck work for the conversion for direct bolt on?
