Installing brake controller

Got a 05 F350 PSD 4x4 auto (King Ranch if that matters) and have a non OEM brake controller along with the wiring adpater/harness that i would like to install. How complicated is that? the truck already has the connectors at the back and so forth. Is it just a matter of plugging in the different components? or there are some "mechanical" adjustments as well?

is there a video (youtube) or a website with detaidl pics?

thanks

it's easy, you just plug it in. up till at least '03 the plug is behind the dash, a little to the right of your right knee.
Do a search, theres been pics posted before.

Does your truck currently have the factory brake controller installed? If not it is a easy plug in like kbeefy said...

My 2005 had the built in controller whereas my 2003 Excursion did not. Anyway, both are plug and play as the wires are under the dash, and directions are in this forum.

no OEM factory brake

so it's just:

1 open the dash
2 find the wire
3 plug in the harness/brake controller
4 make sure it works...

5....ohh yeah close the dash

This forum is great. I paid the trailer manufacturer $250.00 to wire my first trailer. I wanted to barf when I saw what he did. The guy was embarassed and tried to complicate the procedure. LIVE AND LEARN!

Yep its that easy. Just hunt down the connector and plug in your controller.

On the '05 the plug is clipped up behind the storage compartment. There should be one plug for the brake contoller and the other is for the upfitter switches...
