Does anyone here own an 8N or 9N? I've been thinking about getting one myself but I know very little about them. Is there an 8N or 9N forum that you know of?
I dont own one, but I can tell ya if one came along for the right cheap price, id get one. They look like they would be a nice hand acreage tractor, big enough for decent sized jobs, and small enough to do the smaller stuff. The cool thing is alot of them came with 3 point hitches too.
I've had a couple of them in the past (not really big enough for what I use a tractor for, but nice to have). They make a fine little acreage tractor, like was said above. Great for doing things like plowing a garden, pulling a harrow, mowing acreages, clearing snow, etc. They are well-built tractors, and last virtually forever. But, you can probably expect to pay a pretty good price for one, because they are prized as "parade" tractors nowadays. You might try giving a look at Antique Tractors - Yesterday's Tractors : Antique Tractor Headquarters for some info on them. Plus there are any number of Ford tractor websites that you can get more info on. Do a Google search for "Ford 8N" and go from there.
You might also look into getting a small IH or Massey-Ferguson tractor, if you just want something to do some work with. It all depends really on what you want to use a tractor for and what you are willing to pay for one.
My brother has one. Uses it mostly around the yard and for snow removal. Sweet liitle machine. I wouldn't mind one myself if I had the money for one, and the land to use it on...
go over to Antique Tractors Forum :: Index they dont have the rif raf that YT does, theres a ford and fordson board over there and thers one guy that realy now his **** on the 8n's
