Putting together a 460 for my tow rig and I am using total seal piston rings. The instructions tell me that if I am using hypereutectic pistons that I should go with the piston manufacturers ring gap specs. Problem is that I bought these pistons off ebay and they came in an un-original box with no paperwork of any kind other than the label from the original box. Hoping someone might be using these same pistons or did in the near past and might have any specs that came with them (if any)
Federal Mogul/Speed Pro H535P in a .030 overbore size- these are an earlier version of the current coated skirt piston-H535CP
Anybody??
I went to the Federal Mogul website, but it seems more geared for distributors/retailers.
please not those are ring gap factors. multiply those numbers by your actual bore to get ring end gap.
Ron those numbers posted are good so I would use them. Your bore is going to be 4.390 and times the hyper factor of .0065 will yeild .0285, I personally would round to .029 and call it good. FM isn't going to be much differnt if at all.
